A FORMER chairman has decided to retire from a parish council after 43 years.
Alan Tebbutt has stood down from his role as a member of Guilsborough Parish Council.
He was presented with an engraved decanter from the parish council where he also had a spell as a chairman.
A reception was held on Tuesday last week by friends and colleagues.
Among those present were county councillor for the area Cllr Catherine Boardman and district councillor for the village Cllr Chris Millar alongside current and former members of Guilsborough Parish Council.
The current chairman of the parish council Cllr Sarah Jaggard said: “We thank Alan for all his hard work and dedication to the people of the village during his very many years in office.”
