A HEADTEACHER has talked of her pride following her school’s improved Ofsted report.

Crick Primary School has jumped from a ‘satisfactory’ grade in the previous report in 2008 to ‘good’ following the latest visit from inspectors last month.

Headteacher Jan James said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive an Ofsted judgement of good from our recent inspection.”

“Not only are we good overall, but the school also received a judgement of outstanding for our attendance and for our approach and attitude towards a healthy lifestyle.

“This reflects a great deal of hard work from the whole school community; staff, pupils, parents, carers, governors and our trusty band of volunteers who have all contributed to the significant improvement that we have achieved all together. I am very proud of my school.”

And she hopes the school can develop further by helping children at an even younger age.

Mrs James said: “We look forward to welcoming Crick Pre-School in January and feel that their inclusion will strengthen and develop the educational journey for our children.”

The report was full of praise for the school’s headteacher as well as children development.

The report says: “Improvement has been steady since the previous inspection as a result of effective leadership, management and governance.

“Previous issues have been thoroughly addressed, with assessment information being used more extensively by teachers to plan challenging tasks for pupils.

“All aspects of pupils’ personal development, including their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, are good.

“This reflects the excellent relationships between staff and pupils and good quality of care, guidance and support provided by staff.

“Pupils have an excellent knowledge and understanding of living a healthy lifestyle.”
