There will be delight for gourmands as a food festival comes to Holdenby House this weekend.

The Eighth Northamptonshire Food and Craft Show at Holdenby will be a celebration of the region’s best food and drink.

Visitors can choose from condiments, artisan cheeses, home cured and fresh meat, dairy products, confectionary, bakery, wine, beer and other drinks, together with cookware and other related products.

The festival has been organised by Oakleigh Fairs, with television chef Sophie Grigson returning to the festival.

The cook, who appeared at last year’s festival, will be offering cookery demonstrations throughout the weekend.

She has dedicated her career to cooking simple, easy dishes using new and exciting ingredients.

Having published 24 cookery books, Sophie is synonymous with great food and is said to have a natural ability to teach cookery in an informal and fun way.

The food festival also has a range of other chefs who will be on hand to demonstrate their culinary skills, with visitors including Andy Kelly, head chef at Sophia’s Restaurant, and MasterChef Ondine Hartgroves, who
will be compering at the event.

In addition there will also be tours of the Kitchen Garden with Matt Hughes, head gardener at Holdenby, while there will be gin tasting sessions with Northampton-based Warner Edwards Distillery.

Entrance is £7.50 per person, £6 for concessions and £3.50 for children aged between five and 16.

Accompanied children under five go free.
