The Halifax branch in Daventry will be running a jungle-themed fundraising event tomorrow (Friday) in aid of the Brain Research Trust.
There will be a raffle to win prizes such as a PlayStation 3 games console and shopping vouchers, face painting, fun competitions, a sale of home-made cup cakes and a swear jar.
The total money raised on the day will be matched by Halifax.
Staff were inspired to hold the event by customer Gail Purves from Daventry who is undertaking a five-day trek by foot and by cayak through the jungle in Thailand.
Gail has decided to strap on her walking boots and take on this challenge to raise funds to help pay for treatment for her teenage sister Angela, also from Daventry, who suffered a stroke.
The branch’s employees will also be taking turns on an exercise bike in the bank, cycling seven miles each – more than 40 miles between them and roughly the same distance Gail will be travelling during her jungle challenge.
Branch manager Toniann Cotton said: “We are a local branch and like to do things to support our customers and the community.”
