A WIND turbine in Norton is set to win planning permission.
The 67-metre turbine planned for Ashby Farm along Weedon Lane in the village is set to be determined by the planning committee of Daventry District Council (DDC) next week.
Planning officials have recommended the turbine for approval despite objections from people in the area.
Norton Parish Council objected as they said villagers were not given proper notification by site notices and the turbine would have an effect on the village with the nearest homes being 700 metres from it.
They were also concerned about HGV traffic using Weedon Lane to get to the site as it was unsuitable.
There were also concerns from neighbours who stated their abhorrence to the proposal and from the Daventry MP Chris Heaton-Harris who stated many constuitents had written to him objecting.
DDC’s planning committee will meet on Wednesday at the council offices in Lodge Road from 6.15pm.
