A 60-year-old woman was left with three fractures which required surgery after being bitten by a rottweiler.

The woman was walking along Farnborough Drive, on Daventry’s Middlemore estate on Thursday December 3 between 5pm and 5.30pm.

As she walked past the children’s playground she was approached by a woman walking the dog.

The dog bit the victim’s forearm and pulled her to the ground causing the injuries.

As a result of the bite she sustained three fractures which required surgery at Northampton General Hospital.

Police have only been able to release the details now after waiting to speak to the victim.

The dog was with a white woman aged about 40 with shoulder-length blonde hair.

Anyone with any information can call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
