A swimming club has been making a splash thanks to new kit.

Barratt Homes dived in with a £1,000 sponsorship deal to ensure members of the Northampton Swimming Club – which has members from the Daventry area – can continue their success.

With 10 squads, as well as a teaching programme taking swimmers from parent and baby sessions to competitive swimming, the not-for-profit club is unable to fund kit for its athletes without the generosity of its sponsors.

Barratt Homes’ sponsorship has helped towards purchasing new kit for National Level swimmers and staff, which has already been put to good use at competitions and championships across the country.

Jacquie Marshall, director of swimming at Northampton Swimming Club, said: “Northampton Swimming Club is very grateful to Barratt Homes for their generosity to our swimmers.”

She said kit is very important for the swimmers when entering national competitions.

“It assists with confidence for the athletes in what is a very big stage, ensuring they look the part and are ready to compete,” she added.

“Swimmers and staff alike wear the kit with pride and it is also great to be associated with a nationally-renowned company like Barratt Homes.”

Northampton Swimming Club currently has 465 members in its learn to swim programme and 284 in the club programme.

Alison Raine, sales director at Barratt Homes, said: “As a homebuilder we’re proud to say that we not only build quality homes, but also support the communities around our developments.

“Sports clubs like Northampton Swimming Club provide excellent opportunities to bring residents together and we’re keen to support that. We hope their upcoming competitions go swimmingly and look forward to hearing how the club progresses.”
