A man who threatened his ex-partner with an imitation gun after she confronted him over his drug use has been given an 18-month jail sentence.
Michael Borrer, aged 24, of Hinton-on-the-Hedges, went round to his ex-partner’s house in Brackley on September 1 last year with a bag containing more than £5,000 worth of mephedrone, a class B drug.
Northampton Crown Court heard Borrer’s ex-partner thought he “smelt strongly of cat urine”, which is a sign he may be a mephedrone user.
Rachel Law, prosecuting, said Borrer asked if he could sleep on the sofa for the night and then went upstairs to have a shower.
When he came back downstairs he noticed his ex-partner had put his clothes in the wash and then picked a gun out of his bag and pointed it towards her face.
Borrer then left the property and was arrested by police after they were called by the ex-partner.
Police recovered three plastic tubs of mephedrone with an estimated street value of £5,650.
Judge Fowler sentenced Borrer to 18 months in prison for possession of the gun, which was an imitation Walter PPK not capable of firing, and 12 months, to be served concurrently, for possession of the drugs.
