On Saturday September 5 Daventry Museum had a turnout of over 60 people visiting the new exhibition ‘Memories of World War 2’.

Visitors enjoyed the new displays and were delighted to view demonstrations, from Roger Money, on his collection of military guns and the opportunity to talk to Gerry Thompson who continues to carry out research in to the history of local military men who lost their lives during the Second World War.

During the morning, visitors evoked memories of wartime by reminiscing and singing along to wartime songs played on the Museum’s piano by Robert Jennens, former Organist at Daventry Holy Cross Church.

Daventry Town Council and Daventry Museum would like to thank all those who attended and those who contributed to the commemoration of 70 years since VE day and the end of World War 2.
