Police have confirmed that a woman was the victim of a sex assault at a care home in Northamptonshire.
The name of the home cannot be published because it may lead to her identity being revealed, but it is believed her alleged attacker lived at the same care home.
The man police arrested is aged 79, and it is understood he does not have dementia.
A police spokeswoman said: “Northamptonshire Police is investigating an alleged sexual assault at a care home in South Northamptonshire, which happened on Monday, 15 June.
“A 79-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged incident and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
