A STUDENT from Campion School has been arrested and detained under the mental health act.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday afternoon and is now on bail pending further enquiries.

A joint statement from the school and Northamptonshire Police said: “A 15-year-old boy, a Year 11 student at Campion School in Bugbrooke, was arrested on Sunday afternoon.

“He was arrested following disclosures of a threatening nature which were conveyed via a variety of social networking media.

“The boy has been released on police bail pending further enquiries and is currently detained under the Mental Health Act outside of Northamptonshire.

“He poses no threat to Campion School and will not be returning to the school.

“On no occasion has there been any incident within the school that has been related to the arrest.

“The school will be liaising closely with the police and other services. Officers from the Safer Community Team (SCT) have visited the school and anyone with concerns about this incident should speak to the Towcester SCT on 101.”
