Knife-wielding robbery in Daventry

A knife-wielding robbery has taken place in Daventry on Monday night.

The incident happened in Clare Avenue between 11pm and 11.45pm when the victim was walking from the town centre towards Headlands.

After coming out of the underpass near the old swimming school car park and passing the telephone box at the junction of Clare Avenue and Chaucer Way, he was approached by a man who threatened him with a knife.

As two other men then approached from behind, the offender attempted to stab the victim causing minor injury. The victim was able to fend off the offenders and get away from them. Nothing was stolen.

The man with the knife is described as white, Eastern European, in his late 20s to 30s, with a muscular, stocky build. He was wearing a white baseball cap with an NY logo on the front, a grey hooded top and a black jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side and black trainers.

The second man was in his mid-20s, with a medium build, shaved head and a pierced right eyebrow. He was wearing a scarf or balaclava, black hooded top and black jeans.

The third man is described as white, Eastern European, wearing a black scarf which covered part of his face, a black baseball cap, black hooded top and dark coloured trousers.
