A FOOD safety course providing a recognised qualification in catering is currently being offered by Daventry District Council (DDC).
The council’s environmental health team has arranged a series of course dates throughout the year in which participants can gain a Level Two Award in Food Safety in Catering.
The qualification will benefit anyone working where food is prepared, cooked and served.
The course programme includes food hygiene requirements, cleaning, taking temperatures and food handling.
A short examination is held at the end of the course.
Cllr Steve Osborne, housing and health portfolio holder at DDC, said: “I would recommend that anyone thinking of a career in working with food, or any businesses that would like better training, to give us a call and see how we can help.”
The course costs £59 per person or £39 for a refresher, and forthcoming dates include May 17, June 28, September 10, October 18 and November 29.
Anyone who would like to go on the course or would like more information can contact DDC’s environmental health team on 01327 871100.
