A public meeting to discuss the future of a children’s centre on the Southbrook estate will be held this week.
Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) is calling the meeting at Daventry District Council offices on Thursday from 10am to noon.
NCC is proposing that services currently available at Daventry East Children’s Centre can be delivered from different venues in the area, leaving the building surplus to requirements.
Daventry East Children’s Centre is not owned by the council and changes to the way the council wants to provide children’s centre services have highlighted issues relating to the building’s suitability.
The meeting takes place as part of a consultation running until 13 August. The results of the consultation will be reported to the September meeting of the council’s cabinet.
Consultation documentation is available at www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/consultations
