Contracts to provide £12 million worth of services supporting victims of domestic abuse, young people and parents have been awarded to two county charities.

Northamptonshire County Council has announced that ten four-year contracts for services to support vulnerable families and young people have been awarded to local charities, with nine contracts going to Service Six and the tenth to Youthworks CIC which will cover the Daventry district.

Both organisations, in their bids, have brought together a range of local agencies to help deliver what will be vital and positive work to support families in the county.

Councillor Robin Brown, cabinet member for public health and wellbeing said: “We have been rebuilding and remodelling the support we give to children and families in Northamptonshire by putting more emphasis on early help and prevention services so that families’ difficulties are addressed quickly and their needs do not escalate.

“The cornerstone of this approach is getting the right help to the right families at the right time. Both successful bidders were able to demonstrate that they could provide packages of support to vulnerable children and families in a more seamless way and ultimately with a wider and more creative range of services.”
