Residents, businesses and organisations are being encouraged to give their views on Daventry District Council’s new three-year plan to shape services and improve the area.
Feedback is currently being sought on the Draft Corporate Strategic Plan for 2014 to 2017, which will set out the objectives and priorities for the council to focus on over the next three years.
The plan is intended to support the forthcoming Daventry District Community Strategy, which has been produced by the Local Strategic Partnership to guide the future of the area.
The council’s four proposed objectives are: to improve our business economy, learning and skills, to protect and enhance our environment, to promote healthy, safe and strong communities and individuals, and to be an efficient and effective council.
The 13 draft priorities proposed include attracting and facilitating a range of investments, reducing waste and energy use, for clean and green open spaces, improving access to services, ensuring people have the housing they need and that Daventry district is a place that encourages a safe and healthy lifestyle.
The draft plan, which is produced every three years, also includes a series of measures that will help the council monitor its progress. It also sets out the council’s values which help to shape the way it works.
The council is currently consulting on the key elements of the draft plan - the vision, values, objectives, priorities and measures, set out in a questionnaire available to {https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CorporateStrategicPlan2014|view and complete online|DDC} or by visiting DDC’s offices in Lodge Road, Daventry.
People have until midnight on Tuesday, January 21, to give their feedback.
Councillor Chris Millar, DDC leader, said: “The Corporate Strategic Plan not only sets out our vision and objectives for making Daventry district an even better place for residents, businesses and visitors alike, but also contains the top priorities and measures that give us the clear direction for making these improvements and charting our progress effectively.
“I would encourage residents to take a look at the draft plan and respond with any comments and suggestions they have before the deadline later this month.”
