Businesses are being encouraged to support a charity fundraising event in aid of a local brain-damaged toddler.

The charity golf day, organised by the Daventry Express Staverton Park Golf Club and Football for Charity will take place at the hotel on Friday, September 13.

But sponsors are being sought for each of the 18 holes on the golf course as well as a main sponsor for the event itself.

It is in aid of the Jago Worrall Foundation. Jago is a two-year-old from Welton who suffered serious brain injuries after nearly drowning in an accident at home last year.

The day starts with bacon rolls and coffee and a charity golf tournament, with an entrance fee of £25 per person. Later on there will be a sportsman’s dinner and awards presentation as well as speakers. This will cost £40 per person.

There will be a raffle with some top prizes available to win. Local businesses are also being sought to donate prizes towards the raffle.

Anyone looking to offer sponsorship can contact Terry O’Neill by calling 07445 865420 or email terry@footballforcharity.com. Alternatively contact Gusher deputy editor Amanda Chalmers on 01327 708290 or by emailing amanda.chalmers@daventryexpress.co.uk.

Tickets for the event will be available soon.
